fifteen minutes of anonymity

books

FMOA aims, over time, to publish original material that accompanies our interests in art and music. These areas of interest include neuro-aesthetics, do-it-yourself and self-releasing, the limits of sensory expression, and timely looks at old topics of philosophical concern like nihilism and the boundaries of "the self." Books published on this imprint will, by practical necessity, be small runs or "on-demand," as I've found the advantages to publishing with 3rd parties are often negligible. My history with professional publishing houses has been one of minimal royalties or terminally deferred payments, poor or non-existent promotion, and other petty humiliations. On top of that, the time spent between completion of projects and their publication often exceeds a year, rendering subject matter already out-of-date by the time of its release.

Therefore, any book-length projects of mine in the coming years will most likely be released via this imprint, and I welcome other authors to contact me as well with pitches / ideas (particularly work involving a graphic component to it). As it now stands, our debut FMOA release Authenticentrism (And Other Dispatches from the Long Tail) is likely to appear in early 2026. Other books shown below are previous works of mine that are due for an FMOA re-release once I can be certain of my legal rights to re-publish.
